What is the likely hood for a ls1 to work in my 86 z28?

 

You're probably going to have to replace pretty much the whole drive line as well as get adapters to mount the LS1 since it's not based off the traditional block. But with enough time and money almost anything is possible! Oh, you may have you get a new hood as well since the LSX are pretty tall motors.
