Exclamation 5.3L question.

I have the opportunity to swap a 5.3L 327 LS1 into my Camaro. I cant seem to find much on these engines though. Anyone give me more info about it?

An LS1 is a 5.7L engine. Is it possible you're talking about the 5.3L LS4?

Also, can you give us some info about your car? What year, what engine it had originally, etc?

That is the truck version of the LS1. There is also a front drive version of the same displacement which is not suitable for use in a rear drive car.

I know its a truck engine, and I know for a fact it can work with a rear wheel drive car because it was in a S10. He raced it. Im just wanting to know things like the weight, torque, and HP and other small bits of info on it. I just cant find it.

An LS1 to 5.3 liter LM7 is a direct swap. Its been done before. Is this a LS1 Camaro that you have? I would rather you perform a swap using the 6.0 liter LQ9 truck motor if you're going to go through the trouble of swapping for a LM7.
