98 firebird3.8 when i start the car i can hear a noise click click 4 5 seconds then its fine but if i rev up to like 3 grand and let off u can hear it again i do drive the car hard ? 2000000 miles regular oil changes etc no cat aftermarket exaust but could it be a lifter or the main rod berings ive heard of week rod bolts on the 3.8 and i did try the broom handle trick ? and didnt hear a thing anywhere

whats the oil pressure doing? cold pressure, operating temp pressure? check for exhaust leak

prolly like 58 lbs hot and 65 lbs cold normal operating its at about 60 lbs usualy also at low speeds when im creeping it kinda sputters could that be a lifter or a flat spot on my cam ? i got a stethascope its dark ill take a listen tamaro but i hate to redo the top and upgrade the cam and it b a lower end problem could i check the lower end if i get the pan off like the connecting rod berring with a feeler gadge and not break the bolts loose? also i do have an exaust leek at the cat because i took the guts out but ill check my manifolds 4 a leek

its like 225000 for a v6 its got power it gets it sideways with new tires 225/55/16 i hold it in 2nd till 70 sumtimes its got power but dang when i let off the gas when im parked that noise is driving me nuts but like if im in drive in traffic i cant hear it nor when im drivin only when i star it or when i reav up in park and let off even when the rpms are up it dont make that noise untill i let off any imput on what to check thats simple would b awsome it does kinda stumble when im going slow like barely creeping

Exhaust leaks can sound like engine noises; ticks, clacks, knocks, etc.

im i loking around the manifold gasket and the donut or both ? also i did get stuck in the snow and do not have rear breaks untill i pull the e brake any ideas on that the abs light is not on and the brake light is oww ya the cat did get stoped up and it prolly blew the manifold gasket yatzee ill check it tamarrow thnx the only reason im worried is i hit a deer going 65 lol and i wanna know if its worth fixing the boddy damadge srew it if i have to get a new ride ill start with whats simple 1st

check around the exhaust manifold to head connection area for any sign of leakage

Default loud?

ok i got a stethascope like a dr has and extended the hose the noise is loudest on the bottom of the oil pan and on the tob rear passanger side valve cover ? the only way to find out is pull the pan 4 shure ?
used to bee you could race up the moter and dump oil in the carb and follow the smoke but on this its a little difrent
