Default 2000 3.4 Venture connecting rod question

I'm overhauling a 3.4 in a 2000Chevy Venture (sorry...not a Camaro!). I think it's the "E" engine. Is replacing rod bolts during tear-downrecommended on this engine? The reason I ask is that the torque spec is "18 ft/lbs, then anadditional 100 degrees", similar to the way torquing the stretch-to-yield head boltsis described.
Thanks

It is always a good idea to replace the rod bolts, but mandatory in stretch to yeild bolts.

Default RE: 2000 3.4 connecting rod question

I appreciate the input, but that much I know. The problem is neither the dealership, or GM's tech help line could tell me whether these are stretch to yield bolts. The only clue was that the dealership doesn't keep them in stock. So, since I'm sure they work on these engines with depressing frequency, they may notneed replacement. Otherwise, the dealer would keep them in stock. Any dealership line mechanics out there?
Thanks
