1995, 3.4L automatic-
just yesterday i goto back out of the driveway and encounter some trouble doing so. I put the car into reverse, give it some gas, the thing hardly moves. the engin sputters as the poor car trys to back up. eventualy i get out of the driveway and put the car into drive. i start to move forward with no trouble at all and the car shifts fine. i let the engin and tranny warm up before i goto check the fluid. it's at the right level.
so my question is, what could be wrong? all the other gears work great, just reverse is giving me trouble.

It could possibly be the parking brake.

 

Is it possible that while backing up your fuel system went air bound for a moment?
