Default Removing Paint from Aluminum Turbine Wheels

I recently bought a set of turbine wheels off of ebay. For those of you that are not familiar with them, here is a link to a similar set on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...:IT&ih=022. The set I have has spray paint on one half of one wheel. I am trying to figure out what is the best way to remove the spray paint, but without removing the gold color between the turbines at the same time. Any ideas? I'm afraid of fading or rubbing off the gold paint. Also what products are recommended to clean up old wheels like this?
