Default What should I do with my laptop computer?

I have just bought a laptop computer with pre loaded Linux operating system. I do not have any internet connection at present. But I am planning to get one after I install the famous Windows XP Service Pack 2 Home Operating System. Please give me some tips like the do's and dont's on using a computer. All I want is that my laptop computer should not give me any trouble for a longer period of time.

You could keep the Linux system which is a version of Unix. A lot of apps available, free or much cheaper than Windows versions. You could set up a dual system using both Linux and Windows, or wipe the hard drive clean an load Windows only. Windows XP is getting a little old and soon won't be supported. Windows 7 would be a much better chioce. Stay away from Windows Vista. Also, you need to know if you have a 32 or 64 bit processor as the operating system differs.
