Does anyone know who makesa programmer for a 96 3.8l Camaro? All I can find is ls1, lt1, and 00-02 3.8l programmers. Would a 00-02 3.8l programmer work for it? I highly doubt that it will but I'm just curious.

The early 3.8s were kind of bastard years for the programmer. Only thing I found available my '97 is HPTuners. It's available for '97-02.

O man. That sucks. I was really hoping to get a programmer so I can raise my speed limiter to see what she'll do on an open road. From what I hear you have to be careful as to what you program it to do or not do.

You'd need to swap out your PCM with one out of a '97. Yes, you need to be careful what you do, but you can save your stock tune in a few places and there are many people on the HPTuners forum who are willing to help with the other stuff. All I'vealtered is transmission stuff, speedo, fans, A/C,EGR off.
