holley carb gulp valve

Default holley carb gulp valve

i have a holley model 6210 quadrajet carb that a fitting called the gulp valve. what is it for and can i use it for vacuum for the power brake hose.

With the engine warmed up but turned off, remove the valve covers. Start the engine and loosen the rocker arm nuts until they.

The gulp allows extra air into the engine during deceleration. I don't think it is a reliable place to get vacuum for power brakes, but someone else may have better info.
