Help with computer
Well I just raced my camaro this weekend and had it dynoed. I did not do as well as I thought I was going to do. The engine builder told me that with all that was done to the motor that I would have 500+hp and around 550lbs of TQ. By looking at my signature you can see what all was done. Heres what I ran 12.9 at 106.5mph. I ran it twice and this was the best time. I used the 555R Nitto Extreme drag radial. The next day I took it to a local shop to have it dynoed to check to see how far I was from what I was told by the shop. I had 313 RWHP and 363 RWTQ. I was running real lean at 14.5 to 15. The shop that did the motor work said that I need to get my computer done. I am currently running a stage 1 chip. My question is this would this make that much of a difference with the horsepower and torque? I thought that the 93 model did not have all the programable computer like the 94 and up. I can't by one of the hand held programmers for mine. I need to know what I can do. I spent over $3,500 on the motor alone and I was running a 13.2 on the stock engine. So I only gained 3 tenths. Thats not good at all. I would appreciate any input from the subject matter experts.
So what do you think......doing away with a car's computer is a better and/or cheaper option than spending time reprogramming the cars computer to handle performance mods? It seems like it would be kind of a pain to just do away with the computer.

I agree with not getting rid of the computer. It does do alot of good. I just think that it needs to be completly reprogrammed. I am waiting to find out where would be the best place to get it done. Does anyone else have any ideas?
