Default has me stumped?!

1991 Z28,305 TPI...car will fire up fine...run like a champ all day long...until you shut it off, and try to re-start. it will then carry on, miss, and won't throttle up, until you let it sit for a few hours then it will run fine again. the code it was spitting out was for EGR..I installed new one, and still is doing the same exact thing??? and no more codes are being sent??? anyone have similiar issues, or can give me a path to follow? much appreciated.

I am thinking fuel dlivery somehow.
How long did you drive it after changing the EGR? Sometimes, after clearing the codes you need to drive 20 miles or so for the computer to reset and run a fresh diagnostic.

no it will clear it on its own once the computer recognizes everything is ok.takes about 20 miles of driving like cpl said.

okay...i will try again...i let it sit for about two hours, and it started fine...it just seems weird that it will run great the whole time until you shut it off, and then its done until you let it set awhile...i was hoping it would spit another code for me to follow...but nothing...i was hoping it was one of the sensors but it is giving me no clues at all....i appreciate all your inputs by the way.

I am assuming that you cleared the codes since the replacement was done...
