Default egr valve

So, got it scanned today and my egr valve needs replacing. It's a 234 dollar part on a 145000 mile engine... i dont think so! I've heard that you can take it off and like clean the valve of the carbon build up or w/e and it should work again. Is this true?

It's possible that it might work. I wouldn't guarantee anything, but I've heard of people making it work. Though most of them didn't get it to stay working that long. Check eBay or a junkyard for a cheaper one.

that was gonna be my next choice, but if i can do it for free it's even better. I'll just let it go. If the engine stops running guess i'll just have to buy an ls2 now instead having everything else ready. DAMN haha
