Default Carb Question

Not sure if this is the right forum for this post. Please move if necessary.

I have a '68 Camaro with a 327. I just purchased an Edelbrock 1406 carb along with the Edelbrock intake.

My throttle linkage is the old standard rod with a threaded end piece where it hooks ups to carb throttle lever.
It appears that the hole on the Edelbrock throttle lever is a bit too small to fit the pin that swivels on the end of the rod.

I could always drill it out to fit, but before I do so, is there anyone else with this setup? And if so what you you done to accommodate the throttle linkage rod on the 1406?

Thanks
Vic
