Im probably going to run a single 15, just because i already have a nice one (MTX round dual voice coil). But I think dual 12's might sound better, but would definitely look better.

Well, Depends on your setup, 2 12's can hit harder than 1 15 depending on the setup, just like 2 10's can hit harder than 1 12, It all depends on your setup..

2 12's would give you more ways to set them up in the car as with one 15 just sitting in the middle becasue that's the only place it will fit. The 12's will be punchier also.

so this is a good rule of thumb... if you put bass on a scale of 1-10 10 being low deep bass 10s hit 1-4 12s hit 3-8 and 15s hit 7-10... now the best setup would be 2 12s on one amp and a 15 on its own that way youll hit around 90% of the bass tones in most songs (granted if you have the money and space for all that stuff) but for the best sound 2 12s in the right box and with the right amp... best bet is to find a good stereo shop and talk to the owner hell know what you need for specifically your car and budget (if its a good shop theyll measure the volume of your cabin crunch some numbers and hook you up with a really good ported box... that is if you want to pay for that)

I judged IASCA for many years and spent hundreds of hours designing and tuning the audio in my last camaro. If you are set on those two choices I'd run the 2-12's (and I do) due to the size and enclosure size for volume and resonant frequency. As mentioned a properly set up 15 will eat up all the room in back. As was said, 2-12's will also move more air volume all other factors being equal and movement of air is what sound is.
