Default Stock Monsoon,

I have a 2001 z28 with the monsoon system, my drivers side door speaker is bad, so i probably wanna change out the 2 front door speakers and the rear seat speakers, maybe even the rear speakers, someone told me if i change out the factory speaker i'll only get bass out of them, if i wanted to change the speakers i'll have to rewire the whole car and get a new deck, is there any way i can just change out the speakers with the factory monsoon deck and amp in the back. let me know,

Default RE: Stock Monsoon,

I believe that you should be able to just add the new speakers. I dont know why you would need to rewire the whole car. Just try it with some extra speakers that you have lying around.

you dont need to do all that w/ your door or rear speakers...but i think the speakers in the middle only play bass....I've never messed with them

Default RE: Stock Monsoon,

look at your speaker and see if it has 2 or 4 wires going to it. I know the moonsoon systems in the grand am's and they have 4, wheich means they are running seperate bass and tweets to them, so unless you get a speaker with seperate inputs you can only have bass or tweets. You got questions, lemme know.
