Only one side works (Monsoon)
Sooo I just picked up a 2002 Z28... pretty sweet. In my last car (2001 3.8 Camaro) I had all my own system which included my own deck, amp, speakers, and wiring so I knew how to troubleshoot. The new car has the factory Monsoon system and it looks like the previous owner put in some new 6x9s in the rear. When I looked at all the wiring in the back I had NO idea what any of the colors meant haha.
When I bought the new car the left side speakers weren't working except for the little subs next the the rear seats. The right side works fine. I know that the sub on the left side works because when I twist the balance **** all the way to the left I can hear only some bass and it's coming from that speaker. I already checked the back of the deck for fuses but I didn't find any. I also checked the amp and didn't find any fuses there either.
All the wiring looks like it's pretty well connected. Am I missing some fuses somewhere? What else can I check?
Thanks

If it was a fuse issue, then you'd have no sound at all. I would say you just lost that side on the amp, if you can find another amp, plug that in and see if you have all speakers working. If that doesn't work, then it could be the head unit.

I would check the speakers, all of them. If the guy put standard speakers in the rear seat spots then you will not get the bass that you are supposed to get. Full range speakers have very little sound when put to a bass channel. As for the rears I would ring out the wires to make sure you dont have any breaks anywhere and also make sure that the amp is plugged in all the way. I didnt have my amp plugged in all the way when I rewired it so the rear seat speakers are full range and the rears are the subs. I lost all but one door, a little push and I got all channels back and working just fine. Hope this helps. Oh and if everything is good to go and you still dont have the rear left then I would do as GA suggested and replace the amp. Most wrecking yards dont know what it is since it does not look like a normal amp.
