Alright what about making a box? Does it have to be truly air tight? I can probably make one thats close, but that sounds like it would have to be perfect. Is the box something I should worry about?

build the box then take liquid nail and go over the seams on the inside if theres air leaks theyll whistle

Oh OK. I'll order the speakers/ HU tonight and wait a little bit before getting a sub.

Alright speakers/ HU are in the mail. I'll probably hold off on the sub for now and replace my suspension parts first. Hopefully the installation of the speakes and stereo goes well. Thanks everybody for helping me sort this out.

Ok, my speakers are coming tomorrow, HU is already in, I just took the speakers out of the rear, and are they supposed to be Rockford Fosgate the Punch speakers? I pulled em out and was like WHAAAAT!?

What? I pulled off the grills and pulled out some rockford fosgates. Is this normal?

ohhh lol i read your post to fast i thought you meant the po said they were rockfords and they wernt... but those are aftermarket speakers rockford makes a good speaker but ive never heard there components just subs is there any serial numbers on them???

Well they look VERY old, so I guess I'm glad I'm replacing them. I'll go look in a little bit, I'll post a pic and find the #. No wonder the rears sounded so distorted, they were aftermarkets running off the minimal watts the factory HU puts out.
