Default My 3.8L Stock Audio System

Hi all,
I'm facing a problem with my newly purchased 2000 3.8L camaro speakers. The rear speakers are working very well, but the front ones are not!!

Any idea on what could be the problem?

Thanks guys for the replies. I guess I didn't explain it well, my bad
The front speakers are not working at all and there is no sound coming out of them. Even with adjusting the fade.

About the only way to test this is to take a speaker from the back out and test the wires in the front with it, if it works then it's speakers. Take the speaker from the front and try it with the wires from the back, if it works then it's a head unit issue and the front outputs are probably dead. I'm going to guess it's a head unit problem because you usually don't have two speakers go out on you at the same time. And head units will usually loose both channels (L & R) of a built in amp.

Thanks green
This sounds right to me. I'm pretty sure it's the unit.
I guess, I'm going to replace the head unit plus the speakers. I really need a good, yet not noisy sound system... Any suggestions?

I would check ebay for some good 6.5's, some 2/3 ways can be gotten fairly cheap on there. Or try and find some you'd like and do a search for them, you'll come up with the cheapest prices for them that way. Are you looking for subs also, or just upgrading the stock speakers?

www.onlinecarstereo.com has some good prices as well. That's where I get my audio stuff.

green & Stan, thank you both. These are a really good information.

When I purchase them online, where should I take them to get them installed? I'm new to the united states so apologize for this silly question :P

If you're just replacing the stock ones, you can do that yourself and save some money. Plus you learn something. Go to autozone or the like and pick up a hynes manual for your car and it'll tell you how to take out and replace your speakers. If you have problems or questions then hit us up again. You can PM me personally and I'll help you.
