Default Memory loss?

Ok so I have a 91 Camaro RS. I have replaced my already aftermarket head unit with a new one, because when you turn off the car all the memory is lost. All my preset stations and clock are lost. So now that I narrowed it down to faulty wiring in the car.....what wouls cause the radio to loose its memory? Thanks in advance

its very simple, on an aftermarket radio there is an accessory wire (red) which actually runs the radio. And a constant power (yellow) which is "constantly" powered, this is the wire that saves your memory. i can already tell u that the yellow constant was tied into the accessory.[:'(]

did you attempt to do this from scratch? most install kits will ahve a color coded harness that snaps into your factory plug, and then you splice the like-colored wires.
