Default Cd player prob

alright so today i decided i was going to install a cd player myself not knowing anything about it. so i untapped all the wires and put the little harness on without taping the wires so that they didnt touch each other (thats what messed it up, i know) and plugged it in and it worked for a sec then i moved it a little bit to put a cd in and i heard it short out and then im pretty sure i fried the cd player. but now i put my other cd player back in and tapped them all up and made sure no wires were touching that werent supposed to be and it didnt cut on. plus im not sure if this is a coincidence or not but my tripometer went out today after i fried the first one....

thanks

I'm sure you blew a fuse. That's why your car has fuses, so they blow instead of a component.

Fuse, yeah. Did you see any smoke from the CD player? What kind of car are you doing this in?
