Double Din in 1993-1996 Camaros?
I know it is possible, but how costly would it be? What would we need to do in order to complete such a task? How complicated is it?
The reason I'd like to know is that double din head units are much better than the euro-din ones (or whatever they are called) that fit into the Camaros. Not only that, they are cheaper too, and have much higher availability as well.
Just compare Pioneer Avic-F900BT to the Avic N5. Not only the N5 is more expensive, but it lacks many features as well.
And if it is too costly and too much trouble to go through, what is the best bang for the buck headunit for those Camaro with GPS navigation that can read DVDs too?

I personally think that looks tacky as heck for a custom "professional" job. I think if you really want something that's going to look good, better go with a 1.5 din, there's several out there, but not publisized as well as the din and 2Xdin. I know kenwood and pioneer make a model or two, one of them has a touch screen. Either that or go with a flip out touch screen, I have a kenwood KVT-819DVD and I love that thing. But it covers up the HVAC controls, but any of them would.
If you were any good with fiberglass, you could add on to the factory console, like combine the CD holder and radio trim. Custom fab that and you could fit a 2Xdin in there and make it look right.
