Functional really is meaningless. Its pretty much functionless on even WS6 cars, so don't get your hopes up that you will pickup power or have a true "ram air" effect.

IMO I like the small wide cowl hoods on the 93-97 cars. Not sure what other options you would have besides the SS style

the reason i wanted one is my car gets HOTTTT, only when im sitting in town at stop lights or in campus, i know these cars are notorious for it, nothing is wrong.. it hasn't overheated but its gotten close, i need 2 get some more air in there to cool things off any ideas?

A ram air would won't do any good when just sitting at a light or idling. Where do you live? If your car is sitting above normal operating temperatures then something is wrong. Have you done the basics, flushing the radiator, new coolant and thermostat?

They make aftermarket kits to turn your cooling fan on earlier, or manually with a switch, which will bring down your low speed engine temps.
Or, if you're electrically inclined, you can DIY. Do some research.

This one is a manual override, but the fan still works like it does now if you don't switch it on: SLP Manual Fan Control Switch for 93-02 Camaro and Firebird

One thing will fix the low speed overheating, you need to get more air flowing through the radiator. The fans would be a great place to start.
