Default tail lights

so I'm having an issue with my tail lights. when the lights are on their the same brightness but when you press on the brakes the driver side gets brighter but the passenger side dims. I'm not exactly sure whats going on with them.

You have the bulb in backwards, take the one that dims and rotate it 180* and put it back in the socket.

is that the flat style bulb or the round style bulb? because it has the round style bulb and if I switch it around I have no tail light on the passenger side.

Sounds like you have a bad ground associated with the passenger side light wiring.

I've cleaned the only ground I've found and that was in the hatch.
did the 98-02 camaros come with the flat style bulbs? would the tail light harness from one plug into the one on my 97?

ya, the later gen 4 had the round style bulbs where you could put them in either way and they would work. Find the ground ring lug for the rear wiring harness and take it off and clean any rust under it.
