Smile Wow what a difference

Ok so i bought a 1994 camaro from some college girl. Its a 3.4l v6. I wrote on a prevous thread that it was shaking bad when i tried to give it gas when i was coasting at about 50. The girl that sold it to me told me that her uncle gave it a tune up less than a year ago. So i figured everything was ok right. WRONG. The car ran like of bag of crap ever since i got home. So i figured you know what ill give it my own tune up. I got Bosch x2 platinum spark plugs, A fram air filter, a fram gas filter, and new wires. First off I went to take the spark plugs out and the first one i took out had a friggin crack in the ceramic. I was like what the hell. They were all rusty and the wires fell apart in my hands. HMMMMM tune up less than a year ago(YEAH RIGHT). All the plugs were rusty and some were loose. Also I changed them all without lifting the car. It is possible. Just really tough. Than I changed the air filter. First off the air intake wasnt even hooked up properly.ERRRRR. The air filter was caked with crap. So i hooked it up the proper way. Than came the gas filter. Oh my god this thing looked like it was never ever changed. So the time came when I went to fire it up. I crossed my fingers and hoped that this tune up would make a difference. From the first fireup i knew that this car ran 1000x better. I took it for a ride and it screamed. No more shaking at 50. It was like a new car. Point being no matter what someone tells you about what they had done to sell a car. Dont believe them for a second. Make sure you do a full tune up. No matter what!!!!

good job man, better advice would be: don't buy from college girls, they run the dog sh** out of cars.

Default Yeah i know

I know it was a risk when i bought it from her. She only had it since august. But it was the only one i found that wasnt crashed up or had some major problem with it. Plus it only had 131,000 miles vs the other ones i looked at which hadover 180,000. Plus none of the the warning lights were on. So i figured it was worth the gamble vs all the real crappy crashed up ones around here. I was thinking of upgrading to a v8 but i would rather get good gas mileage and its fast enough for me.

Yeah but this is the model i always wanted. I love the look and im handy with things so i figure this wil be a great learning experience and I am willing to put the work, time, effort into fully restoring it. Its what i want. I'm really not into the other gens. This one is the one that appeals to me.

i'm sorry, but i couldn't help but to chuckle as i read about your misfortune...just the way you worded it i guess...trust me i've been there too, almost the exact same boat, except i was conned by an old fart and not a college chic...

....now before i buy a vehicle....i test drive it and take it and check under the hood first and then lift it up and check everything and i mean everything! you could have seen the air intake problem clearly...

...i'm just sayin
