Default Whisper lid

ok so i was looking at the whisper lids and was wondering if the SLP ram air kit would be a good easy mod for my 2000 V6? Which would be better a SLP lid or the whisper lid? I like the way the SLP one looks but on the website it says that it is for a V8? Also would the Ram Air kit work good with a new lid? im only 16 years old so i am looking for a cheep easy mod. I already have a Z-28 muffler on it for the duel exhaust. amy sugestions?

I have the SLP ram air kit and it works great. To install it you just take the air box apart, cut the air deflector panel, bolt in the kit, put the box back together, done. Also i would use a K&N air filter instead of a stock paper one. The Whisper lid will work with the SLP CAI. And there is a reason the website says that the SLP lid works for only v8s.

It is possible to use the SLP lid but you'll have to substantially modify it. Even then it will tend to warp and leak air since they were made for the LS1's. I have a Whisper Motorsports air lid and have no complaints, its a quality part, but its a little pricey unless you can pick one up used.

I personally like the whisper for the V6. It fits perfect and works great.

ok so if i put in a SLP CAI and a whisper lid W/ a K&N fliter i would be looking at somewhere around $300. Would the performance gains be worth it? and would it compromise the reliability of my car?

Performance is minimal, until you get a new exhaust system. I have a cold air intake and whisper lid right now. Performance could be better/more noticible.

Ok I already have a after market cat and a Z28 muffler. So the car already sounds a lot better, but on some sights it says that these mods will also give your car a deeper more agressive tone. Is this true? Or are there any other cheap easy mods that anyone would sugest?

Thanks!
