well im back to working on this car again. I've got all my other questions answered, thanks to the people on these forums but I still can't figure out the this "canister purge solenoid" goes. I know that one of the vacume lines hooks in between the intake manifold. I can find another vacume line to plug into it, i also can't figure out where it mounts. There is also a purple wire plug by it that is in the same wiring harness that i can't find a place for.

The purple wire plug is for the driver's side oxygen sensor.

Here's the canister purge solenoid and how it mounts:

 

ah, that helps a ton. No wonder we couldn't find anything else to plug into there. Theres only 1 vac line into it

where should i be looking for this oxygen sensor? its not for the exhaust is it?

 

Yeah, the oxygen sensor is the thing with the purple wire in my pic. It screws right into the exhaust manifold. Looks like a spark plug with a wire coming out the top.

Looking at my pic again I see that I hadn't yet hooked up the vapor line that comes from the fuel tank to the canister purge solenoid. In the pic the vapor line is hovering above the solenoid and you can see the nipple it goes to on the solenoid.

 

i don't think your thinking of the right wire plug, because i already have the 02 sensor hooked up, I'll have to look at it again though.
