What tire sizes will fit 1999 Camaro?
I currently have 235/55/16, but I was wondering if I could fit 255/50/16 or 225/55/16 on the car. I do have the stock rims by the way. The 235/55/16 seems to be a hard tire to find and when I do find them they're expensive. Also, I've been looking on Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct what are some more sites that may have better deals?

Ya 225 is narrower. Try eBay. You can find some good deals on there. 245 are nice aswell and are a little cheaper. The stock z28 have 245/50/16 on them. I have that on my 96 aswell and love them. Next size I get will be the same. Look at the Goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 tires they are really sticky and aren't badly priced.

Thanks man. The tires I currently have a Goodyear Eagle RS and they are alright for traction, but they're wearing down. So I'm definitely going to have to get a new set within the next 1,000 or so miles. Just have to get enough cash first.

I have 225/60/16's on mine and the stock size for mine was also the 235/55/16's. When I bought the car 245/50/16's were on the front and 255/50s on the back. I like the 225s much better. I find the steering easier to turn, the car rides smoother, and handles just fine to me. The 225s are also cheaper. Now if how well the car will handle a hairpin turn at 80 MPH and how much traction you get when you nail it on a drag strip are important and money and ride less so throw some 245/50s on it.
I know I am in the minority here but I do not see the point in putting real wide tires on a 200 horse power car that is only being driven on the street

I'm looking at the 225's and they do appeal to my wallet. I'm really stuck here though. I believe I may just get 2 new 235's, and put the 2 tires with the best tread on the front. Then get 2 more when I can afford them. If I get 4 new I'll have to go with 225 though.

Tom let me ask you this have you considered used tires? I bought the 225s on mine used because I was just at a point I was not wanting to put any more money in this car. I paid $160 for a matching set of 4 Goodyear eagles mounted, balanced, and tax included with about 60-70% tread left.
I used to think used tires were ridiculous but then I was hit with needing tires real bad one time when I was really broke. I learned quick you can get good tires cheap if you buy them used. I have not bought a new tire in over ten years. Check Craigslist. I have bought two sets from there. Then try some of the tire stores in the rougher parts of town. I have bought multiple sets from places that looked way less than upstanding but I actually got good tires cheap
