^Very true, but how much money do you have lol? Did you take a look at MusicMan's V6 build? I think he is in the mid 13's so far.

No I haven't looked at his build. I've heard of it around the forum tho. And right now I have about $3900. But it will be a gradual thing ya know... So for tight now, I'm looking for a good 3.8 Camaro with under 130xxx miles and a 5-speed. I'd like it to have t-tops, power windows, and power locks.

Did you price out insurance for a LT1 or LS1? Cause $4k can get you a decent LT1.

Yeah the insurance on a v8 Camaro will be $200+... I can't afford more than $150

huh...it was cheaper to insure my LT1 than it was to insure my '99 Grand Am (and I'm 19 with a less-than-stellar driving record). In fact, I've heard of guys paying less for the same insurance on their Z28s vs their V6 cars.

well... if you want to build the car up why dont you find an lt1/ls1 with a blown head gasket for like 1200 dont register it build it with the other 2700 take some defensive driving courses to get some discounts on insurance you could prob get around 30% or so save yourself around 60-70 bucks there that would bring your insurance down to about 150ish and register it an spring of 2012 youll be about 20 and your insurance will drop about another 10-20 bad *** camaro with a v6 insurance rate

This is true. However I need a new car pretty soon because mine is starting to act up when I start it cold. So my next car will most likely be a 3.8 with a 5-speed. I know I can get a nice one of those with t-tops and power options with 130xxx or less for around $3800

I think if you're looking to buy a V6 to make it outrun an LS powered vehicle, you're probably buying it for the wrong reason. If you're buying it just to make it fast for a V6, that's another story. When you line up with someone who is running an LS motor, and they want to race, chances are they won't be running a stock motor themselves and that leaves you in the hole again.

Buy a V6 and make it fast enough to be fun. That would be really cool to see. Just be careful on expectations outreaching cost-effectiveness and reliability. Music Man has lots of experience on knowing what parts work and what parts don't through his extensive racing background. You'd have to learn all that as you went, and that will cost you... a lot. I'm just saying be careful on the costs to achieve those goals.

Yeah I hear ya man. I just wanna be able to smoke people and the power ratings on a 3.4 just aren't cutting it.
