V6 to V8 swap questions
all right i bought a 94 camaro with the 3.4 v6 camaro with a 5 speed with the intentions of doin this motor swap. so i jus have a couple questions
1st will the 5 speed hold up to a built ls1 355.
how do i tell what transmission i have and how many different manuals transmissions did chevy use in these camaros
2nd pretty much same question as #1 but with the rearend

1. The 5-speed won't hold up with a built v6, so no it won't handle a built v8. Besides, it wouldn't directly bolt up. There are some companies that make built T5's though. There is a 5 speed for the 3.4, and one for the 3.8, and a 6 speed for the v8.
2. If your rearend didn't come with a limited slip, then I would get a new rear. Not sure how much power you're planning on putting down.

well i had the motor in a old 91 4wheel drive truck that i used for pulling a trailer and playing in the mud so it is built. it is a 350 bored 30 over, trw flat top pistons, rv cam, double roller timing chain. but as far as the upper half i need to redo cause it was for a throtle body so i am still lookin for lt1 heads and intake.
