v6 trans swap question
I have a 93 camaro with the 3.4l v6. Will the transmission and torque converter from the 96 with the 3.8l v6 bolt up and work with my 93? Does the same mount and driveshaft work also? thanks.

No, 3.8 is a different engine with different bolt pattern.

Sorry I can't say I ever installed a used converter. Autozone list the same part number for both the 3.8 and the 3.4 but they may have designed it so it could fit multi application.
2 things would prevent you from doing this swap
- The bell housings are different
- The trans out of that new of a car would be electronic (Meaning yours is probably a 700r4 not a 4l60. The trans out of the 3.8's are 4l60e (e=electronic)
Answer to your question: You cant swap it.
Actually yes. Starting in 1996, the rwd version of the 4L60E has a separate bolt on bellhousing, using a common transmission body. But unfortunately, that change came too late for there to be a 3.4 bellhousing fit.
