hello everyone, does anyone know how I can make make space to get to the top 2 bellhousing bolts so I can pull out my engine? the bolts are super close to the firewall and I got no space or leverage to get them out. any advice is very welcome. thank you.

 

Years ago when I worked in a Dodge dealership, I was able to use a 36" extension with a swivel socket to remove similar positioned bellhousing bolts. You may have to drop the rear of the transmission a little to get better access, but you should be able to remove the bolts from underneath the car. Gorn would be the person to answer this because I'm sure he has done this more once before and he knows what it takes to do so on a Camaro.

You are correct in the process, I pretty much remove all transmissions that way.

 

much easier for me to pull the engine out the bottom.

 

For everyone, I have read many posts from guys that have done it both ways. There is not comparison, its much easier out of the bottom even if all you have is a 1 ton engine hoist.
