V6 swap
Hello I have a 99 V6 auto Camaro and today my oil pressure dropped to 0 and engine shut down .. got it to crank and sounds like a spun bearing. Added 2 quarts of oil to see if maybe I dropped the tube and nothing changed. No fluids mixing or leaking from car. I was thinking of dropping in a sc gtp motor and was wondering what was all involved. I have tried to look around and seems that the trans will bolt up and engine will mount up but the SC will need a re route. Is there more? I don't really find much hard information on the swap.

It is a lot of work and cost for not a lot of return. You figure it is a 40 HP gain. You can do that with a cam and headers and a few supporting mods. With the super charger you will have to make parts and turn a sharp corner. There will be a lot of custom tuning. If you buy an off the shelf performance cam you can buy a PCM already tuned.
I looked into myself and I found a lot more threads of people starting the project then finishing it. In fact I only remember two guys finishing the project. There are just so many little things that need done. If it would have been worth wild someone would have made a kit a long time ago.
Find yourself a 3800 Series III L26 engine. There is a sticky thread in the V6 tech section that covers how to use your existing parts to convert it to RWD. The Series 3 has slightly bigger valves Put a ZZP stage 1 cam (if you can find them anymore) you can hit 250 HP at the flywheel. You could leave the motor stock and put in headers and a set of 1.7 rocker arms and maybe hit 225 HP.
