v6 camaro turbo project help
I have a 2000 camaro 3800 series and i was looking into turbo kits.
I would like some help on finding a kit that will work with my camaro and i am not looking for anything fancy. There are links below for the turbo kits that i was looking into.
a) UNIVERSAL STARTER BASIC TURBO KIT 16PC UPGRADE CUSTOM - eBay (item 190517477234 end time Jun-27-11 00:10:49 PDT)
b) UNIVERSAL T3/T40E TURBO/TURBOCHARGER KIT PIPING BOOST - eBay (item 160520931999 end time Jul-16-11 18:58:05 PDT)
c) UNIVERSAL T3/T40E .63 TURBO/TURBOCHARGER KIT DRAIN+FEED - eBay (item 180620020875 end time Jul-01-11 05:00:16 PDT)
I have a few questions:
1. which kit will work best with my 3.8l v6?
2. what additonal parts will i need to purchase not included in the kit?
3. will i need to make any engine modifications?
4. is it worth putting a kit on my car that has 144,xxx miles on it?
thanks!

No a turbo is not worth it on the 3.8 unless your goal is to go fast with a 3.8. For what it would cost to Turbo your 3.8 you could buy a LS1 car. If you want to research it search for Musicmans thread. He did a turbo build.
FYI no one makes a bolt on kit so you need fabrication skills and tools. In its stock form the 3.8 with low miles should have head gaskets and pistons replaced along with Rod and Main bolts if you want a rock soild motor. On a motor with a 144K on it, it should be rebuilt. These cars will blow a headgaskets bone stock with that kind of miles on it.

Ok so if want a turbo your going to need to do a lot of research. It's not which kit do I need. There's plenty of guys here but I only know of one guy that has a turbo 3.8. Thats music man. If you want more info and guys that can help you go to fullthrottlev6.com. They have thread after thread after thread about turbos and what size and how to get headers or who makes headers and who is selling there headers. Go to the forced induction section an start reading.
