Turn Signals Won't Cancel
My 95 3.4L Turn Signals Won't Cancel, they just stay on after my front wheel got hit yrs ago -- has anyone done the work to fix this problem? How involved hours-wise and cost? Any insight appreciated...

Sounds like the cancel cam inside the steering column. To fix that particular problem requires a disassembly of the steering column and replacing the cancel mechanism. For exact procedures, see a repair manual. It's not an extremely involved repair, but requires a lot of attention to detail. Also, it would be wise to deactivate the SRS.

this is really odd, but as soon as something goes wrong on my car, i see a topic about it here the next day. my left turn signal stays on as of yesterday, but the right one works. if it costs alot to fix, i don't mind just flipping it on and off manually. my car is beginning to go downhill i think, alot of stuff has been going wrong, or starting to anyway. it dies out every now and then, the clutch needs replaced, needs new transmission mounts....at least the motor is still in good shape, even though it has 178xxx now.

Yes, every vehicle has their time when nothing goes right. Your car will be seeing more and more as you enter high milage territory. The problem itself may be one of two things: the cancel switch in the combination (cruise control, headlight dimmer, turn signal, and windshield wiper) switch may be damaged or sticky, or the actual pin on the inside of the steering column that engages the switch may be broken. I don't know if it's even servicable, and knowing GM, they may just want you to replace either the pin or the whole combo switch, which to my last knowlege, was a good amount. For pricing, try looking at a GM parts dealer and get some numbers to cross reference to AutoZone or Napa. Never underestimate the power of the cross reference.
