okay new question, i have a 1988 gmc k2500 with a 350 and an hm-290 transmission, should i just build them both and do a swap? i have connections on both ends a tranny builder and a a few engine builders and i have a pretty damn well stocked garage (only need a cherry picker) and if i had more know how i could do it all myself but ehh better idea? because i can't find another fbody or car i like within 500miles

It doesn't work like that and I don't feel like explaining it... But no, you probably shouldn't do that. You'll need a whole lot more than just a motor and a trans. Can you make your own motor mounts? If not, give up on this entire swap idea.

yeah, i can if not like i said i know people in the right places, i know i would have to swap over to fuel injection need an ecu fuel rails etc etc i know i have all 3 welders mig tig and arc, i got this idea after seeing a gto with a 402 stroker cast block ls heads and a procharger f1, and i figure a chevy 350 is a 350 what's the difference between motor mounts for an ls1 and an old gen 1

No a 350 is not a 350 when it comes to an LS. What year is your car? Did you read the Stick that say V6-V8 swap? Read it carfully there is a link and good info near the end that will list the parts you need. The reason evilkal does not want to explain it is because people ask the question about v6-v8 swaps about twice a week. (The turbo question comes up about twice a month) They are always newbs with low post counts. For about a week or two they argue it can not be to hard. Then they actual research it and realize they will need a doner car and about 150 hours worth of work and its the last we hear from them. There are a few people on this site that have completed the swap. Let me guess the next question will be can I put a supercharger from a Grandprix on my 3.8? That would be the hat trick of newbee questions.
