When i started my 3.4 for the first time after a rebuild, the oil pressure was at 80 psi also. I figured it was because of the new pump. after breaking in, it level down to around 40. Thats the only time i've seen that high of pressure. oil pressure switch maybe? I would assume the blue smoke is from oil burning, but i dnt see why it would burn only for 15 secs. Does the oil pressure drop back down or is it constant? Did you restart it again? Did it react the same way? Trying to shoot some ideas at ya but that beats me.

Heres another starting problem, I usually have to crank mine for about 10 seconds for it to finally start up. And also sometimes when i start it it will fire right away and then die immediately. I know of another person who goes to school with me that has the same issue. I just did my head gasket change and replaced the fuel filter and it hasnt gotten any better, any ideas in this?
