Transmission slipping?
Quick Car Specs:
1999 3.8L V6
Automatic Transmission
80 Series Flowmaster Exhaust System
Whenever I ride in my car for an hour or so, my car shifts very hard and quick. I normally don't drive very hard, only putting the RPMs up to 2500 or less in every gear. A friend of mine calls it "kick" and says it's not harmful to the car, but this is a little more than kick in my opinion. Turning the SGS on in this situation helps, but I know it's not really fixing the issue, just shifting from 2nd instead of 1st so I don't notice the issue.
Once my car has been off for an hour or so, it no longer has the hard shifting issues.
Anyone else have this problem or have any idea on what it could be?

RE: Transmission slipping?
I doubt it has a shift kit. If so, why does it only work when I run the engine for an hour or more?
And my service engine light came on about a month ago, got it read, and it said it could be low transmission fluid, or an internal transmission fault. I was low on fluid so I added a good amount. I'm not sure if it is low again, but it shouldn't be after only a month.
Is there a way you can check the torque converter at home?
