trans problume

Default trans problume

i have a 94 camaro with the 3.4 v6 4 speed auto i just got the car yesterday and it takes off in second gear and over drive dont work does anyone know what might cause that ???? any help is appreciated thanks

Check the SGS button (if your car has one). SGS depressed makes the car start in second gear. GM only used it only in V6 cars, must have wanted to tone down the super torque of the 3.4 V6. lol

there is no sgs button on the 3.4 only the 3.8... check your fluid for color and level red is good brown or black is bad... odds are its the original fluid most people forget everything but the oil

scann for codes,,, if you can find a place that can do it. adding to bc's comment, could be tps or speed sensor or wiring to the transmission.

hope you got it cheap then since you just got it yesterday.

Id definitely go the route of checking your fluid and wiring to the trans.
