Sounds about right. I would go ahead and have it done.

I totally agree with Toml14 and shnormo. A transmission flush is the only way I know of, besides a total rebuild, to get completely newfluid into your transmission. And if you're going to do the flush pop for the filter change. If you have it done at the same time as the power steering flush I would see if they could cut you a break on both services. Hey, you don't ask you don't get.

ORIGINAL: camaro girl

if the trans fluid is not pink should this be done? its kind of brown i guess, thanks
If its dark and a kinda burnt smell. After a fluid change/flush, expect the tranny to start to slip sooner than later. I have seen it many times. I would just refuse to service a tranny like that and tell them to just drive it till it goes out and dont go on any long trips.

Exactly
That fluid has all your cluth materials in it and is what is keeping it from slipping now. It may be slipping some but after a change it will soon be very bad.

Oh and I am sorry to tell you but its going to fail any way. Just not as soon if the oil was changed. Start looking/saving up your pennys for another trans or a rebuild.
