I have a 93' v6 and it is governed out at 110mph. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

 

You have to get your cpu reprogrammed.

I heard someone say something about killing the govornor by diconnecting the batery and doing something else. I don't remember though, I was just hoping someone knew how I could do it on my own.

 

If I read correctly, a 3.4L does NOT have a speed limiter.

It DOES have a rev limiter governed to 4900 or 5500 rpms, if I read correctly.

Of course, a stock 3.4L being what it is, you won't have enough guts to get up to either mark anyway.

Since there is nothing of note to program a 3.4L ECU, well, you get the idea....

 

At 110mph my little 3.4 hits some limiter. It isn't a rev limier, because I wasn't near redline. It was speed. I hit 110, and POW it pulled that annoyng stop and go stuff that ;imiters leave you with

 

ive got a 94 3.4L and ive got the same problem. i know for a fact that its a governor.

 

i dunno today i got my firebird up to 115 and sign of a limiter but i ran outa road so i had to slow down but at least in my firebird no 110 limiter
