Whats up forum... I own a 1999 Camaro v6. Does any one know if the tail lights off the 93-97 will fit on the 98-02 body??? Im not feeling the multi-colored especially since one is cracked... Get back to me please

 

Yes they fit, but the wiring is slightly different and a couple tabs need to be broken off. But it's possible to just use the same wiring, the lights just won't light up the same way in the 93-97 without a quick alteration.

 

I once did the opposite, put the newer style tail lights on a 96, so yes you can. I just wasn't feeling the red lights and liked the multi-colored ones better, go figure! But, the tabs on the light sockets are configured a little differently, so you'll have to do a little trimming on the socket hole slots of the housings with a utility knife (you don't have to break anything). No big deal really, and the housings will mount right in place of the other ones.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot about the sockets, they're slightly different. I just took my Dremel to it and filed it down just a little bit. It only took me like 10 minutes to do my swap.

so what are you doing with the mulit colored lights cause i like them better than the all red on my 95

 

Im probably going to save them in case somebody else needs or want them. The driver side is useable. Passenger side is done so its probably going to the can...

 

oh, cause i was thinking of swapping the all red ones off my 95 for the newer ones like you have
