t5 bellhousing
I was wondering if I could take the t5 from the 4th gen v6 camaros, and bolt it up to the v8 t5 bellhousing from the 3rd gen camaros. I found a t5 on ebay from a 99 v6 camaro for $300 and just wondered if I could drop it in my 82 z28 and get that started on a 5speed conversion.

Bring your bell when you check out the trans. If it lines up you are good to go. If my memory serves me right the tailhousings for the 3rd and 4th gens are different which will put your shifter in a different location and the torque arm may not line up right. The torque arm is a simple fix just get one that does not mount to the trans as for the shifter... console mods may be needed.

the trans is on ebay. and I don't have a v8 t5 bell housing either. I guess if I get it I'll have a spare for my 97 if it doesn't work out.
yeah I was planning on having a crossmember mounted torque arm instead of on the trans.

I don't know for sure but I do know that the 99 has an internal release bearing. The V8's have external ones. You will need a bell housing from a 305 3rd gens. Both the 4th gen v6 and the 3rd gens the transmissions are turned 15 degs.
The down side is I know the t5 has several changes. A 3.4 t5 will NOT fit in a 3800 V6 do to changes in the input shaft configuration so the chances of a V6 fitting a V8 as a bolt in without mods is slim? You may need an input shaft from a WC T5.
