Is there a way to do this in reverse? I hate having t-tops and I'd rather have a hardtop, but I really don't want to sell my car.

i think you 2 should get together and just take the stuff off his car then put it on yours and vise versa.
it would save a lot of money.

It doesn't work that way lol. The hard part about T-top conversion is all the little work involved. All you need are the T-tops and seals really lol.

Why, because of leaks? I've been seeing a number of people complaining about that. I've had both a 3rd and 4th gen, and maybe would get a little leak if the rain was hard enough or if the wind was blowing just right. But, the good far outweighed the bad.
Anyway, you do realize you can adjust your pin receivers to tighten them down, don't you? If you remove the trim pieces where the pins go through, you'll see the receivers. Loosen the two bolts from underneath and you can slide the receivers. Move the back ones towards the front and front ones towards the back (with the tops latched in place), then tighten down again. Even if you don't have a leak, it would be good to make sure the top pins are catching by enough. Some guys have had their top fly off because the latch pin wasn't catching the receiver by very much.

i know i was joking cuz personally i wouldnt want hacked metal pieces to place on my car.

on ebay t-tops are goin from 50 (just one side) to 200 (both sides). Then the stripping is the same deal 100 and up for that. And the shades that go underneath are expensive.

get a doner car JMO
