Swap questions
I just bought 2 camaro's for my son. The first one is a 98 coupe with 43000 original, 5 spd, 4 wheel disc brake. The quarter panels are beat up pretty good with no rear bumper, or front clip except hood is there. The interior is in good shape except where they tore out the air bags in the dash and on the wheel. The second one I brought in is a 94 body with an excellent interior, good body, auto, blown 3.4. I guess now on to my questions.
1. What 5 spd is in the 98?
2. Are the disc brake rear ends good and what gear?
My plans are to swap the engine, transmission, and rear end into the 94 body and put the 98 front clip I have on it. I would like to run the 94 dash (since the 98 is trashed) and put the 98 gauges in the 94 dash. I plan on gutting the 94 body completely to a shell, wiring harness and all. The tear out everything from the 98 and put it in the 94 body. I would like to use the column that is in the 94 since I am using the harness from the 98 how do I get around the pass key? I dont really want to tear the column apart or reprogram the pcm. Any helpful knowlegde on this swap is appreciated. Thanks

RE: Swap questions
1. T5
2. 3.08 Auburn unless he has the Y87 in which case it's a 3.42 Torsen.
You would be better off just buying the pieces for the 98... Much less hastle and most likely less money =P
