I have a question that needs answering and here im sure is the best place to do it.....
I have a 3.8 rs 5speed and my uncle builds race engines for stock car drag racing... my father and i have been thinking about bringing the car over to him so he can rebuild/freshen her up..... port...polish...hone...cam...pushrods...etc which would cost me around 3000$
once i do that i have been wondering if it was possible to throw a pontiac GTP supercharger onto my 3.8..?????
I know they are both 3.8s but i did not know if GM made the same everything for the two cars..... I can get the supercharger for around 300$ rebuilt with lifetime warranty but i do not want to jump into things and later find out it wont even fit..... i also know i will have to get a different belt but i do not know what else i will need to do if this is at all possible!
thank you very much and i hope that i can find some answers!!!!

The heads are different. It's possible, and I've seen on some other website a guy who has done it. I found the site through Yahoo. I'm having trouble finding the link right now though.

Thanks for the quick post.... i found another forum on a different website and the replys were basically sayin that it is possible but difficult so w/e... ill see what happens....on another note.... my buddy has a 1998 Trans Am with the SLP air box and he was reading that cutting out the Metal screen behind the air sensor allows like an extra 1000cfm to the engine and he read it off the slp website.... think it would hurt to cut mine out?

"SLP's high-performance 85mm mass-air-flow sensor flows a whopping 895 CFM (90 more than the stock 75mm MAF)—enough to improve engine output by up to 10 horsepower. Or, remove the screen (not recommended on street cars) for an incredible 1000 CFM of air flow! This lightweight composite unit weighs one pound less than the factory MAF and is fully capable of supporting engine applications making over 600 horsepower. Compatible with stock and modified engines."
This is what they have to say about the MAF sensor. On his T/A it would give him a total of 1000 cfm. It will give a littleextra flow to your 3.8. As for how much, I'm not sure. Also, I don't believe you have to cut it out. You should just be able to remove it.

so would you recomend or not removing it, what is the worst that could happen? Will it cause codes? Is there long term problems it can cause.
