well, i dunno crap about sound systems but welcome and hope your enjoying your new camaro!! although i have seen alot of interesting ways to mount them, does your car have t-tops? i actually made a template from the little flap thing that goes in the hatch to cover the trunk and then cut a peice of wood to the same size and shape and cut out holes for the subs then run the wiring under the carpet, its suprisingly easy to get under the carpet. i believe you need a new headunit to run subs though, i havent looked into this monsoon one, because i never actually got around to using my subs or the mount haha. ill try to post up a pic of it if youd like....

i just installed a lighting audio amp and audiobahn 10's. coupled with the stock bose speakers (and some minor adjustments to my amp), it's a pretty decent sound system. it's actually not much of a hassle to install one in a camaro. you can easily hide the wires and if you're installing a new cd player with it, the dash comes off extremely easily. i was going to let a professional do it, but decided to try it on my own, and if I did it, you know it has to be easy. but as for taking your back seats out, don't worry about it. my tens are sitting right behind the back seats. i'm getting a 15 to put in the space where my t-tops go sometime in the future

How well everything is gonna fit comes down to your T-tops. If you have them, check out a stealthbox from JL Audio, or I am actually getting a camaro box and just dropping two 12s into the back of my car. I have a thing for bass too, and you can pry even throw two 13s in the back

I am running 1 sony 1200W sub powered by a JL mono 250 Watt amp. This all being powered by a Sony high end Deck. LEt me tell ya, it is nasty. The better the equiptment the better the sound with less problems. BuddyWackos, I am gonna be nice as possible with out sounding arrogant. Lightning and Autobahn is garabge. You could be running a 2000Watt Lightning amp and the sound from a single JL 250 Watt Mono Channel amp is gonna sound like night and day. It also depends on how you wire and what you use to wire it with. Dont buy swap meet crap. Just cause it says its a Jillion Watts, dnt mean it is. And if it is, it will sound like crap. Stick to good names. When it comes to Amps, Circuit city and Best Buy are the most over priced and have the stupidest meatballs trying to sell them. Check out www.Crutchfield.com they have great deals. Or use craigslist.

don't worry, i took no offense. i know it's nothing great, i was just saying it's not that hard to install. it's definitely better than the stock system that's for sure. i have mechanical issues to worry about on my car, so i can't go blow my money on an awesome system...yet. the only reason i got this was because a friend sold it to me for 50 bucks. amp, and both speakers that is. i bought a panasonic cd player witha walmart gift card, and it turned out to be pretty good. i do believe it was woth50 bucks, and i do plan on upgrading

IMO, Lanzar, Pheonix, Profile, etc, are all good brands to start with, and to learn with. after you learn, step it up to Kicker, Pioneer, MTX, JL, Memphis, Alpine, Diamond.. SOME Sony(not all Sony)

for a deck though, go with a nice high end deck right of the bat, some Sony's are great. but my fave HU brand is Alpine, next is Pioneer.

you'd be amazed at how well a 350W Memphis Amp can push 2 D3s in a ported enclosure. loud as you'd ever need.. of corse, bigger is better htough

JL is real damn expensive. if you have the money go for it. but i'd prefer a set of kicker L7s, or even L5s. 2 10s or 2 12s, will handle atleast 1000watts. the L7s will do atleast 1500. for an amp, i'd prolly go with a JL1000/1 if you have the money, if not, look into Soundstream, Diamond and Memphis. for your door speakers. i'd go with Alpine.

they're even on sale ATM, that 10 is rated at 600, two will give you 1200 RMS, even though it could prolly handle 1500-1700. these are my fave sub. L7s

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...6-MCD1000.html
this is a real nice memphis amp, rated at 1000watts, but will prolly push close to 1200.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...D5-1200.1.html
that's another real nice amp, but you'd need Dual 2 ohm subs, not dual 4 ohm, which is what i listed. you can get in 2ohms though.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...io+1000-1.html
no need to explain that amp =) again, you'd need dual 2 ohm subs. not dual 4.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+SPS-17C2.html
these are a great basic speaker. will go well with like a CDE 9883 head unit.

these are all jsut what i recommend, you can prolly find cheaper on ebay, but SE is a respectable audio company. they have great kicker/RF wire too.
