Default starting issues 95 3.4

The battery was getting low on charge and the starter was dragging some. I installed a new battery and now the thing wont start. When you turn the key all the lights come on like its getting juice everywhere but when you turn the key to send power to the starter nothing happens. checked all the fuses and cleaned up the grounds and still nothing. tried jumping the starter with a screw driver and the air co compressor clicks but other than that nothing else happens. Could it be a bad starter and if so then why does the compressor not click when using the key to try to start it?? PLEASE HELP

id take the starter out and take it to autozone theyll test it for free and if you need a new one you wont need to pay the core

check for power at the big post, should be hot at all times. the s post is for the ignition (you didnt hook it to the wrong small post did you) and should have power when the key is turned to the start position.

Hey my starter went bad almost a year ago - all the lights came on when the key was in but yeah when I tried to start it lights would go off and I would hear a single click. If you sat there for a while turning the key again and again it would usually start. So I agree you should get it tested. Set me back like $170.
