I took the starter motor of awhile back and now I forget where the wires go? I know where the little black one goes the green is the ground and connects to the solenoid off the starter but does it matter where the hot one goes on the solenoid? I know should have taking pics...

 

On the 98 we just put engine back in, the hot wire is on the outside terminal, the one away from the motor. See page 263 of the pdf Camaro parts manual posted on this site.

 

Ok great thanks I will check it out. I cleaned all mine under side up, trannys out and new rear main seal and housing gasket are in. So what im tryin to do is fire it up with no trans and make sure the seal dont leak before i re-install the tranny.
