Default the sound of a v8

so i want my car to sound more like a v8 than a stock v6 car. i have a 70 nova ss as well with a built 350 and it has 3 inch flowmaster 50 series 2 chamber all the way back. i was thinking about getting just one 50 series 2 chamber to replace the stock muffler and running 2.5 in. pipe from the headers back (after converting the cat to a straight pipe) and the running 3 in. out with a y pipe for dual exhaust out the back. with this at least make it sound somewhat like a v8 and boost my power?.... or is there a better way to make this thing rumble???

You'll never get it to sound completely like a V8. While some sound tough at low rpms, it becomes ever so obvious once you run it into higher rpms. Many people will tell you to get a V8 for the sound of a V8.

If you're gonna start out from the headers why not make it a true dual and put in an X-pipe?

I have pacesetter headers, gutted car, and flowmaster exhuast. Many people confuse it with a V8. And at higher RPMs its still a nice sound. Its very bold, and doesnt break or rinkle the sound at all. If you free rev it, it will break up at higher RPM. But if you take off, it stays crystal clear. I like it.
