Maybe in combination. But, if my experience with the CAI is equal to other owners', it will do nothing on it's own except make more under hood noise. One of the worst purchases I've made for the car.

What years are we talking? If it is a 95-99 3800 the headers are one of the best upgrades assuming you have an cat back to support it.

You'll see a slight difference. I'd grab some 3.73 gears too

Headers, catback (anything but flowcrapster), magnaflow cat, and depending on the year an intake upgrade. With all that and some better gears it'll be a peppy little car. I would suggest a pcm4less mail-tune, it will make sure the computer utilizes the upgrades correctly.

I have Flowmaster and it's excellent. Maybe you had a bad experience? I had Magnaflows on my Aurora and swapped them with Flowmaster 80's. Made a big difference in sound and performance. Almost 1/10 difference at the track.

Great thread, I had considered a CIA for the 97 3.8L am I to understand this would be a poor imvestment without setting up the exhaust as well?
